As a small, independent restaurant we must protect ourselves against no-shows and short-notice cancellations. For that reason, we take a deposit of £25 per person for all Lunch reservations and a £55 per person (the price of our 5 Course menu) for all Dinner reservations (Thursday – Saturday) which will be deducted from your final bill.
We request at least 48 hours notice for cancellations. The deposit fee for cancellations made over 48 hours before your reservation can be transferred to a new reservation if required, otherwise it will be refunded. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your reservation will result in us keeping your deposit as a cancellation fee. Thank you for understanding that deposits are needed given the experience we have had to date and the costs incurred to our business.

Tern has moved to 39 Warwick St, Worthing, BN11 3DQ. You’ll find us a short walk from the seafront, in the heart of historical Worthing, surrounded by independent shops, cafés, and a creative community.
Tern is a modern British restaurant rooted in hyper-seasonality. We source all our produce from the British Isles and adhere strictly to a zero-impact philosophy. Expect ingredient-led dishes, thoughtful flavour combinations, and a balance of comfort and creativity.
We hold a small number of tables for walk-ins in our bar area. And will always accommodate last minute diners in our restaurant if space permits. However, booking is recommended for the restaurant, particularly in the evenings and at weekends.

Yes. Our downstairs cocktail bar is open for walk-ins, serving seasonal cocktails, low & no options, classic serves, and a small bar snacks menu. You’re welcome to drop in without a restaurant booking.
A discretionary service charge of 12.5% is added to your bill. All tips and service charges go directly to our team.
Yes. Digital gift cards are available through our website and can be used for both the restaurant and bar.
We offer options for group dining, celebrations, and private hire of either floor, depending on availability. Please contact us with your event details and we’ll be happy to help.
Our menus change regularly based on what’s in season. Sample menus are available on our website.

Crowdfunder FAQ
Not for regular services. In December, we’re running two Crowdfunder-only dinner events instead of holding back tables at every service. These will be bookable via email on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note calls & emails are monitored from 10am-6pm Wednesday to Sunday. Outside of these times, please leave a message & we will respond as soon as we can.
As our availability can change on a daily basis, if you are unable to find a suitable time online please do call or email us
No. Christmas Eve Lunch, New Year’s Eve Dinner, and New Year’s Day Brunch are excluded. These dates are crucial for us financially and help keep the restaurant healthy long-term.
January onwards. From January, we will reserve tables for Crowdfunders at every service, bookable up to 7 days in advance.

No deposit is required.
A 24-hour cancellation policy applies if we cannot resell your table.
Yes. These are backer-only nights where every table is a supporter. They are designed to be celebratory evenings and a chance to enjoy what was created together.
Yes. We will be hosting one Crowdfunder-only dinner each month.
No. These nights are exclusively for people who supported the crowdfunder.
Only if your original reward tier included that option. Most tiers are for in-restaurant dining.
We will offer alternative dates and can add you to a priority list if a table becomes available.
Yes. As long as your reward tier covers the number of guests, you can book the full group into a Crowdfunder-only event or a regular service from January.
No. There is no expiry date. If you cannot visit in the first few months, simply book later in the year.
Yes. You are welcome to add extra drinks, courses, or guests on the day and simply pay the difference.
Yes. If you cannot attend, you can gift or transfer your reward to another person. Just make sure they reference your name when booking.

Yes. You can modify or cancel up to 24 hours in advance. If we cannot resell the table within 24 hours, the booking will still count as redeemed.
